Searching the Library Catalog
 

The card catalog for the library can be accessed online (http://library.cui.edu) or from work stations in the library.

From the home page of the library, click on library catalog.

In the blank, type in the words or phrase you are searching. If you know author, title, etc., fill in that information and select the correct search category. Generally, words and phrases will find the most information. You can refine your search based on the information you receive. You may also use the Power Search to help you limit your results based on the words and descriptors you select.

The basic information about the book will be on the screen, along with a list of where you might find additional information.

Clicking on Details on book #1 above will bring up this view. Click on the Catalog Record tab to bring up the card catalog view. At any time you can click on the Keep button to add this resource to your search results.

Clicking on Catalog Record will bring up detailed information on the content of the volume, including subject terms at the bottom of the screen, as well as availability. Clicking on any of these terms will bring up additional resources on that subject. If you want to add this resource to your list, click on the Keep button.

Click on Kept to see your compiled list. You will have the option to edit your list and print or email the list.

To Renew Materials ONLINE , change your contact information, etc. return to the main search page. You will see a login box to enter the OPAC similar to the one below. You can make changes once you log into the OPAC.
