Type size is measured in points. In an effort to get more information on a slide, we often use a smaller point size. Generally a typed letter is in 10 or 12 point type. This works fine on a printed page. On the screen, larger is definitely better. Use at least 36 point type when making a visual presentation. This will accomplish two things. First, it will limit how much information you can place on a slide and help you distill the key information. Second, it will make the presentation quite readable for the person sitting in the back of the room.
