Meet the Staff Hey all. My name is George Allen, and I am in my fourth
and final year here at Concordia. I currently am majoring in theology
and plan to eventually go on to seminary to become a pastor of some
sort somewhere. Some activities that enjoyably take up my time include
listening to a wide variety of music, following professional southern
California sports, reading non-fiction almost exclusively, watching a
movie every once in a while, practicing saying the alphabet backwards,
and wondering if a metaphor is like a simile. Anyways, I hope to see
you in the Writing Center some time soon, as I would greatly enjoy
sitting down and talking to you about your journey through the writing
process. One author summed it up nicely when he said, "I'm not a very
good writer, but I'm an excellent rewriter." Let's strive for
excellence and keep re-writing. Hello hello! I'm Anna and I'm a junior studying
Elementary Ed. Although originally from Minnesota, I have found I quite
like California, particularly places like Yogurtland. I am also fond of
the color red, having adventures, and peanut butter. I have learned to
enjoy literature and grammar and work diligently to spread this
appreciation to others. So come on in to the Writing Center! We've got
candy, dontcha know! My name is Ruth Ellis. Concordia is the second
college I have attended. I transferred from a school in Boston for my
junior year. This year, I'm a senior at Concordia, studying English
with the goal of teaching high school somewhere in California. You
might see me around campus ringing handbells or helping to copy edit
the Courier. This is my first year working in the Writing Center, and I
hope to see many fellow students there! Hi! I'm Andrew Finley, and I'm a junior here
at Concordia, pursuing an English major. As such, I love reading. I do
it all the time. Some of my other interests include foreign and art
films, going to zoos and aquariums, and just plain old relaxing.
Nothing sounds better to me than a day spent in a comfortable chair
reading a good book. Nevertheless, I still enjoy outdoor activities,
especially hiking. One of my favorite things to do when at home is to
go hiking in Mt. Rainier National Park. Mt. Rainier is one of my
favorite places in the world. I'm pretty involved here on campus. I'm a
member of the Concordia Choir, and I am part of the PAL program. I love
both positions dearly, and recommend them highly to anyone interested.
So, don't be afraid to bring your writing questions to the Writing
Center. I'll do my best to help you discover the answers. Hi! My name's Greg Henkle, and I'm a senior
majoring in mathematics. But don't worry! Writing is one of my
strongest subjects. This is my second year working in the Writing
Center, and I'll be happy to assist you however I can. Some of my
interests include reading, writing poetry, playing guitar and piano,
running, and of course, studying mathematics. I enjoy meeting people
(especially other runners!), and I'm looking forward to seeing new
faces this year. Feel free to stop in and see me anytime! Well, hello there!
The name’s Melissa Karges.
I’m
a
senior and I’m shooting for a degree in Behavioral Science with
an emphasis in Anthropology, a minor in Missiology, and I’m also in the
Pre-Deaconess program. So if you need help with papers for Psych
or
Soc or anything like that, I’m your gal. I’m a very organized
person
who pays attention to detail, in real life and in writing….A few other
fun facts, I’m in the Women’s Ensemble, I’m a member of CUI’s ACTS
ministry team, I enjoy traveling, I love peanut butter, and I am
learning to speak Hungarian. So let’s work on a paper together
sometime…I’m the redhead, come find me. Hi! I'm Kayla and
I am a Junior here at Concordia. I am an English major and currently
pursuing my teaching credential. I am from an amazing small town
in
Northern California. I was on the Women's soccer team here, and
also
have a passion for sports and ESPN. I'm excited to meet you and
hope
to see you in the Writing Center soon! Hello everyone! My name is William S. Tucker and I am a junior
at Concordia. I am currently majoring in English and plan on attending
law school after completing my undergraduate career here. I also
compete on Concordia’s track and field team, but let me stress that I
diverge from the typical athlete archetype. I am committed to academic
excellence and actually enjoy writing papers (I know it’s weird,
right?). Please feel free to come to the Writing Center and allow me to
set out with you on the journey of the writing process. God bless! Justin
